About Us

Our group was created in March of 2014 as a way to connect those interested in permaculture design with resources and opportunities to interact with and learn alongside each other.  Since then a diverse community of folks working to foster a regenerative culture in San Antonio has formed. We have successfully partnered with several community organizations including Green Spaces Alliance, Southwest Workers Union, the San Antonio Housing Authority, Catholic Charities, San Anto Cultural Arts, Dante’s Roll Models, the Native Plant Society of Texas, and the William R. Sinkin Eco Centro to host classes, and facilitate volunteer design projects throughout the city.  In addition, San Antonio Permaculture has played a key role in organizing the Common Ground gatherings of sustainable organizations which have been instrumental in creating new connections and partnerships amongst innovators in the field of sustainability in San Antonio and surrounding areas.

We continue to have monthly gatherings in the form of discussions, film screenings, potlucks, and community workdays to educate ourselves on permaculture design principles and practices.

San Antonio Permaculture’s mission is to create spaces where people can come together and learn about permaculture design. We provide resources and promote actions that create a more diverse, cooperative, and regenerative culture for the increased health of individuals, our community, and planet.
